Otome Youkai Zakuro 3 – how half-spirit babies are made

The 3rd episode of Otome Youkai Zakuro turns out to be the best episode so far. The artwork continues to be excellent, the interim monsters are entertaining, and the pieces of the larger plot seem to be coming into view.

Scenes from a peaceful little village, eh? Actually women and children have been disappearing lately, so Zakuro and Agemaki are dispatched to check it out.

Agemaki promises to be a gentleman.

Zakuro clarifies the consequences of acting otherwise.

While on assignment, Zakuro starts acting oddly. Agemaki correctly realizes that something is guiding Zakuro’s actions. As he follows her, he spots something wonderful.

Awesome!

Although our protagonists don’t realize it, there are forces moving behind the scenes.

Our intrepid heroes enter the cave.

Uh oh.

Despite its simple design, I really enjoyed this monster.

Zakuro prepares for action.

Still useless, but at least he's trying.

After they get back to the base, rumors start floating around about the new intimacy Agemaki and Zakuro shared.

He really is as evil as he looks.
