The now legendary Match 48 of Round 1 of the 2012 AniBlog Tourney has finally drawn to a close. And as we drag ourselves to our feet, and wipe the sweat from our brows, we cast a tentative glance at the goal:

It’s kind of funny how, as much as I try not to take this contest seriously, it seems kinda unavoidable all the same. Good luck in the next round and hope this gets you more subscribers!

The last Tourney happened a month after I started this blog, so it seems like a pretty big deal to me. It feels like validation that what I have been doing over the past two years was more than just me prattling on about a topic that nobody I meet in RL cares about.
I have no delusions about winning, but it feels really cool to be taking to the same field as the big guys.

I think it’s great that you show your happiness if you’re really happy. If some don’t care about the tourney, that’s perfectly fine. But when some do care, and yet try to act as if it’s beneath them, that’s really quite silly.

Yeah, the design is the only sticking point about the blog (the comment text is somewhat hard to read), but I do enjoy your writing. Asides from that, I wish you luck next time

Thanks. It’s a shame I can’t tweak the design without spending $$, else I would try to respond to the legibility issue that was raised.

There are other themes out there that might fit the look, but yeah… it kind of suck and it confuses me why they don’t provide basic custom design (changing link colors, nav bar colors and text colors).

I don’t want to do anything drastic like changing to a different theme. I’m pretty satisfied with this one (I actually like it’s minimalism and muted colors). But if I could tweak it, that would be nice.
